We found a church to take over the mission! River of Life in Rusk. It may be different in some ways than what we had planned, but it's God's plan and that's what counts!

They have a small thrift store and cannot accommodate all the large items so they are being donated to Christ the Redeemer here in Jacksonville - so ALL will still be used to help those in need and the community - doing God's work.

My family will be putting our heart and soul in this endeavor as we did in Jacksonville (it will be our church home and we will volunteer wherever we can be of service). I feel like Ruth following Naomi.

I will keep this page active for a while to keep you up to date. Please visit the thrift store in Rusk. Their prices are much better than ours as they don't have to pay all that rent that we did.

The thrift store is only open one day a week (if it opens any more days I'll be sure to post it) and does a food pantry then also. I'm told they have a page so be sure to check it out, follow, share, like - you've got this!). It's by Good Sam so you can make a day of it and go to both. There may be more I'm not aware of. If I had known I would definitely have been there!

So if you are still looking for a place to donate... small household items are appreciated! The Clothes Closet here in Jacksonville gives away clothes so please donate those there.

Tomato Fest is here!!!! Our table has been moved from across from Neighbors Coffee to Main & Commerce - across from Austin Bank & Secrets Cenote Hotel. Come by, say hi, rest and visit, offer any suggestions on ways to help, available buildings, volunteer, sign up on interested list for Bingo, Movie Night, Trivia night, GED, Job Search Help, Quilting, Canning, Freeze Drying, Dehydrating, Dry Mixes, etc. (this will determine when there are enough people to have a class or event).

Plan is to have store open, but it really depends on inside temperature of the building. Come on by and see for yourself what all the fuss is about.

Drink! Drink! Drink! Stay hydrated, stay safe and enjoy this special day!

Soooo sorry!!!! It was unbearably hot to stay in that building with no ac. We will try to find a temporary solution until we can get moved. Please bear with us. Thank you for understanding.

We're moving soon. Watch this site for updates! Still don't know where or when but a couple of possibilities have presented themselves but nothing definite. So please keep praying for this mission as we hope to continue as many services offered by Hwy 69 Mission as we can.

Times are tough and the Bible says they will get much worse in end times. I believe we are heading that direction & want to help prepare ourselves and others as much as we can for this time.

Food preservation is a large part of that. Classes on canning, dehydrating, freeze drying, dry mixes, etc.

Preparation brings to mind Noah and the Ark ) though no one listened or participated) and filling the lamps with extra oil to replenish.

If you know of any buildings or churches, PLEASE let us know. We will be looking at all options and praying for God's guidance.

Sofa and desk 1/2 price sale still going on as well as $5 bag clothing sidewalk sale. We need to move this stuff so less to move to new location. Don't worry we have LOTS more coming!

Guess most everyone has heard of Hwy 69 Mission closing. They have filled the needs of the community for years and will be truly missed. We cannot possibly replace them but want to learn from them and emulate them to the best of our ability to serve our community. Our goal is to fill unmet needs.

We are looking for a new location and/or a church or Christian Organization to take over our mission. We would still provide some financial as well as physical help. The current location has many building issues the worst at the moment being old, faulty wiring... it fried the brand new $800+ air conditioner we just had installed as well as a mister we had purchased recently. The owner won't adjust the rent or recompense any portion of this loss so we have to relocate. If you know or hear of anything please come by 201-203 Cherokee (across from Brookshire Bros.) or send us a message. We will remain open during this transition.

We have been unable to contact the Lions Club to pick up the donation of eye glasses. If you are a member or have contact info. please let us know or let them know we have several pair ready for pickup or we will drop them off if we get an address.

The winner of the Graduation Contest has not picked up her gift. Please come by or send a representative to get it for you. It has been ready since May 15th & if not picked up by June 15th it will no longer be available. We are proud of our graduates & our winner & would like her to receive her gift.

$5 bag sidewalk clothing sale will continue through the move. Lots more added daily as well as a variety of items in the store thanks to the generous donations of Hwy 69 Mission as well as many others.

Thanks to help from our customers we learned about new local sites that have helped spread the word that we are here and open. Thank you so much!!!

My husband is going to have a table representing the store at the Tomato Bowl. He will be passing out flyers and business cards.

Overstocked. 1/2 price sale on throw pillows. Today only.

Redecorating? We have lots of furniture...sofas, rugs, throw pillows, pictures, lamps, coffee tables, end tables, etc.

We've been closing early the last few days because of the heat. We have new air conditioners and hope to have them installed and running today - yeah!!!

Free ice and water for homeless now available. (Limit one ice chest per day).

$5.00 bag sidewalk clothing sale still going on. More added daily!

Hospital bed, walkers, bedside commodes now in stock.

Still in need of volunteers, especially media help!!!
We need lots of prayer and support.

If you know any church or Christian organization that would like to take over this mission outreach (Jacksonville Thrift) to continually fund community projects please come by and talk with us.
