Today, we honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice, the families who carry their legacy, and the heroes who continue to serve our nation.

May we never forget their courage, their sacrifice, and the freedoms they fought to protect.

Remember the brave. Remember the fallen. Remember the heroes.

Think military retail demand is unpredictable? Think again. πŸ“ˆ

IT'S THE MOST PREDICTABLE PATTERN IN RETAIL.

Every year, the same three dates drive massive spikes in military-related retail demand. If you're not planning inventory around them, you're leaving sales on the table. Here's the breakdown:

πŸŽ–οΈ MEMORIAL DAY β€” May 26
The unofficial kickoff to patriotic retail season. Demand spikes for flags, apparel, and home decor as people prep for cookouts, ceremonies, and long weekend visibility events. Start building inventory 4–6 weeks out.

πŸ¦… ARMED FORCES DAY β€” May 17
Smaller than Memorial Day but still a reliable bump β€” especially near military installations and in communities with active-duty ties. Great opportunity for targeted local promotions and gear tied to specific branches.

VETERANS DAY β€” Nov 11
The single biggest spike of the year. This is the "Black Friday" of military retail β€” apparel, discounts-for-veterans promotions, and tribute merchandise all surge. Retailers who wait until late October to prep are already behind.

Bottom line: the data is a forecast. Retailers who treat these dates as predictable revenue windows, not surprises, come out ahead. πŸ“Š

Displaying the flag isn't just tradition, it's governed by the U.S. Flag Code.

And for military retailers, getting your flag display right builds trust with customers and shows respect for what the flag represents.

FLAG DISPLAY STANDARDS WE THINK EVERY RETAILER SHOULD KNOW:

1. Lighting is non-negotiable
If your flag is displayed 24/7, it must be properly illuminated during hours of darkness. No light = it needs to come down at night.

2. Never let it touch the ground
The flag should never touch the floor, ground, or anything beneath it. If it's on a wall-mounted pole, make sure it can hang freely.

3. Position matters
When displayed with other flags, the American flag should be at the center and highest point, or to its own right (the observer's left) if flags are in a row.

4. Weather-worn flags need to go
A flag that's torn, faded, or tattered should be retired, NOT left flying. Many VFW and American Legion posts offer free flag retirement/disposal services.

5. Never use it as drapery or packaging
The flag shouldn't be used as a tablecloth, backdrop bunting, or wrapped around products for display or promotional purposes.

6. Half-staff has rules too
Flags should only be flown at half-staff on designated days of mourning (per federal, state, or presidential proclamation), not at a business's discretion.

7. Retire it with respect
When a flag is no longer fit to display, it should be disposed of in a dignified way, ideally by burning in a private ceremony, not tossed in the trash.

Getting these details right isn't just about compliance, it's about respect. πŸ¦…

To the women who work hard, trailblaze in industries, break barriers, and prove that determination looks good on everyone, we salute you.

Keep showing up ready to prove them wrong.

Because sometimes, the best response is to simply keep going. πŸ’ͺ
