This special session is dedicated to celebrating their strength, resilience, and unquestionable cuteness!

We finally were able to pull her away from the sewing machine to formerly introduce her! Meet Melissa Williamson, our head Hug-A-Hero sewer!

She is a military spouse, mom of two, and one of the caring hands behind our Hug-A-Hero dolls. She has been sewing for over 15 years, with a deep love for quilting and creating pieces that bring comfort to others. Her family received their first Hug-A-Hero doll back in 2009, so she understands firsthand just how meaningful these dolls can be during seasons of distance, deployment, and sacrifice.

She is beyond kind, caring, and deeply passionate about making people feel loved, supported, and comforted. Melissa brings together her passion for sewing and her passion for community in every doll she helps create. Knowing the impact these dolls had on her own family makes every stitch even more meaningful, and we are so grateful to have her as part of our family. 💙

In honor of Military Appreciation Month, our friends at Carolina Real Estate Group are sponsoring 50 Hug-A-Hero® dolls to be given away to local families with Mommy or Daddy deployed or soon to deploy.

Applications must be received by May 25th, 2026. Recipients will need to be available on Saturday, June 13th between the hours of 10am and 2pm at Carolina Real Estate Group to receive their dolls.
