Kaepernick is not the problem, the 49ers' and the NFL support of this is most disturbing.
Kaepernick continues to express his personal views, and as a former service member, I too disagree with him yet support his ability to do so. Heck, he can even burn the flag for the halftime show if he chooses to do so. If he wrapped himself in it first, it would impress me watching the flag burn. I would love to see Kaepernick remain seated in the stands at a NASCAR race.
What I find most disturbing about this is that he does it while in uniform and is permitted to do so while in uniform. While he is wearing a uniform, he is a representative of a team and that team is a member of an organization. San Francisco allowing this to occur and the NFL allowing this to occur is disgraceful. Permitting this type of behavior while on the clock and in uniform clearly indicates support of this sentiment. Everyone of us, while on the clock for our employer are required to conduct ourselves as our employer mandates or suffer the consequences. Apparently the 49ers' and the NFL agree with his sentiment as he is wearing their uniform when he expresses these views. They are also providing him with the national stage to express his disrespect and to make it more known. Seems strange that a player gets penalized for "unsportsman like conduct" if a touchdown celebration goes to far, a little trash talking to another player but figuratively flipping off the entire nation, it's armed forces and what the flag stands for is not only permitted but approved by the 49ers' and the NFL. Apparently the sponsors and advertisers also are endorsing this statement through the continuation of their support. I'm watching to see which companies pull their advertising and which endorse this behavior through continuing to sponsor the 49ers' and the NFL.
While this is my personal view, I did seek permission from the CEO of Florida Custom Weapon Finishing prior to posting this. I want to assure you, we support our Armed Forces and freedom of speech. If you wish to disrespect my flag or the mighty US Armed forces, go ahead and do it. Please come to my shop and tell me about it so I can have the pleasure of throwing you out.
