So I haven't posted since we lost Mama on January 18, 2018. We (4) Morris grown kids are fine though and I'll post more a little later!

I haven't posted anything in a while because we lost our precious daddy, "Billy" Morris Dec. 9, 2016, due to complications from pneumonia, and our hearts are broken. From time to time, I'll post something (Facebook tells me I must). ;-) Thanks for your patience, everyone. Please feel free to share comments and photos. This website is DEDICATED to our late father and our mother, Louise Morris.

All four of us Morris children worked at The Bootery, starting at age 14. So many local teenagers worked there as well. It was "the place" to shop for shoes! Chris Seagraves, Robin DeVusser Gibbs, Robert Finch, Jimmy Jones. Hattie Yopp was there always and (in my opinion), the assistant manager, if not said. Later, The Shoe Box came on Lejeune Blvd., the original rack store, LONG before Rack Room. Eventually, they opened "shoetowne" in New River Shopping Center, which Dad let ME name! (I shoulda gone with my gut instinct and majored in advertising!)

Our parents, Billy and Louise Morris owned the Bootery shoe store for approximately 40 years in Jacksonville, North Carolina. But before that, Dad managed the Bootery in New Bern, North Carolina. Please feel free to share your stories here. Were your children fitted with Stride Rite shoes? Did you buy Bass Weejuns? How about pocketbooks, cheerleading shoes or drill team boots?
