Hey there, Bookminers!

Our annual Lights Out event is less than two months away & we need a hand! We are asking for some Halloween decoration donations 👻 🎃💀

Anything is welcome, but we would love the following most of all: to-scale skeletons (broken or whole), pumpkins, lights (we aren’t picky!), spiders, bats, rats, bugs, or a fog machine.

If you can help, just come on by the Bookmine location. We appreciate any and all contributions. Let’s make this the best Lights Out yet!

50 years ago, Ron Chamblin opened a bookstore with a few smoke ridden boxes of books. Stacked on the floor, with all of his hopes and dreams, were the different book categories you could browse. What once started as a cozy space with a few selections, has grown into a literary labyrinth held together with determination, lots (and lots) of shelves, and the love and loyalty of its Jacksonville residents.

There are not enough words in all of the books in the world, to express the gratitude that we have for the careful hands that carry the Chamblin’s magic. From the hardest working staff, curating the selections and opening the doors each morning, to the customers that stop in to say hello, browse the stacks, or buy a coffee. We are grateful for every moment and we couldn’t write this next chapter without YOU.

Please join us in celebrating our 50th anniversary, with some special edition merchandise, that we are SO excited to share with you all. Thank you from the bottom of our stacks for keeping our dream alive! Here’s to 50 more! ♥️📖📚

Thank you so much to everyone that made it out to our sidewalk sale today!!! We sold over 200 bags of books!!! The sale is officially DONE, but the bookstore is still open until 9pm tonight if you want to swing by!
