Friends, we have really been going through it the past couple of years.
My mom had her strokes, my husband had his near-fatal motorcycle accident, and my daughter Sidney has been dealing with serious health issues for years that I have not really spoken about publicly.
I do not work right now because I cannot safely leave my mom or my daughter alone.
Yesterday, I had to call EMS for Sidney. Her body seized up and she fell to the floor. Her blood work showed critically low electrolytes. Today, while I was visiting her, her heart rate went into the 180s with chest and back pain. When the nurse completed her EKG, he took off running to get a doctor. Before I left, they had done two more EKGs and three ultrasounds of her heart. They also gave her several medications because they were concerned about what was happening with her heart.
I came home about an hour ago and called for an update. Sidney has now been moved from critical care to the ICU.
My husband is taking time off work to be with us during this, and financially, that is going to hurt. For the first time since we moved into this home in October after being homeless, we finally felt like we were about to breathe a little.
