It’s a strange kind of freedom realizing this while preparing for a possible wildfire evacuation:

There is *nothing* in my house I would risk staying behind for.

The dogs? Not even a question. They’re the plan.

But everything else? The furniture, the “stuff,” the things we spend money on, organize, store, and stress over… if the fire wants it, it can have it.

And honestly? That clarity is powerful.

When it comes down to seconds and real decisions, you find out real quick what actually matters—and what never did.

We haven’t evacuated—but we’re ready if it comes to that. The animals in our care are accounted for and plans are in place.

Everything else is just things.

And things can burn. We’ll rebuild… just not in this sh****le. The fire is now at 20K+ acres and no stopping it.
The rescue that is near and dear to my heart has evacuted and now helping animals that their sh****le owners left behind to burn.

I have to say… I love using ChatGPT as part of my design process.

Sometimes when I’m laying out patchwork or working through color placement, my eyes just stop seeing it clearly. Everything starts to blur together and I second guess every move. Instead of walking away or overthinking it, I can bounce ideas off ChatGPT and get a completely different perspective in seconds.

It’s like having a second set of eyes that doesn’t get tired.

Do I always take the exact suggestion? Nope. But it helps me see options I wouldn’t have considered and pushes me to refine things into something that feels more intentional and polished.

For me, it’s not about replacing creativity—it’s about supporting it. And honestly, anything that helps me design smarter and faster while still keeping my own style is a win.

Curious… has anyone else tried using AI in their creative process?

These little swimmers are headed to @ the The Southern Peach on SSI later this month, and I couldn’t be more excited to share them!
