From Alexander Pedals
Stereo Widener "Velvet Noise"

Velvet noise is a sparse sequence of tiny random impulses, each either positive or negative, spaced and timed so they’re individually inaudible but collectively push the left and right channels apart in correlation terms. The chip generates independent random sequences for each channel and samples little pieces of left and right, differentiating left from right without obvious pitch or comb-filtering artifacts. The width k**b performs a wet/dry blend between the original signal and the decorrelated version.

At moderate settings, the processing adds air and space while keeping transients clean. At full width, the channels are maximally decorrelated — as far apart as the algorithm can push them. Maximum decorrelation using velvet noise is achieved around 50% on the k**b. At higher k**b settings we also add motion by modulating the twin delay lines. It’s a very subtle modulation but you can hear it, especially if you input lots of harmonic content from things like drive pedals.

Our friend and customer Keith sent us this feedback after purchasing the VONGON collection.
"They sound glorious!"
They certainly suit the decor.
What a wonderful space!

STRETCH WEAVER'S AVAILABLE NOW!
Side Chaining, Granular Effects Box

The Stretch Weaver has 2 separate channels that can interact with each other in various ways, mostly through side-chaining where a channel can trigger an action that will be applied to the other channel.

stretch
Each channel can trigger the other to get time stretched. The louder the signal, the longer the stretch. The ctrl k**b adjusts the max time stretching overall available.

weave
Only the right channel is being stretched but the left k**b will allow some of the left audio to get weaved in and processed on the left.

repeat
Each channel can trigger the other to loop the last recorded sample.

tape
Each channel can change the speed at which the other channel is being played back.

pitch
Each channel can change the pitch of the other.

glide
Each channel can trigger the other channel to glide from a very low, almost inaudible pitch up to unison.

gate
Each channel goes through a gate that only opens when the other channel triggers it.

ringmod
Each channel can ring modulate the other. When you turn up the ctrl k**b the two incoming audio channels will start to get mixed together before being routed to both ringmod processes, so that each channel will increasingly be able to modulate itself.

While it is a dual channel pedal intended to be used with 2 audio sources, if you only plug something into the right channel it will be routed to the left channel so that you can still make sounds (stereo if you wish) and trigger the effects.

"ORBITS" is back in the states.
Phil has put the fun back in granular synthesis with the most intuitive "k**b based" ( no programming) design that we know of here at Sound Shoppe NYC.
