This is one of those places that makes you stop, look around, and appreciate where you are! ❤️

Near the town of Creelsboro, Kentucky you can visit the “Rockhouse”, also known as the Creelsboro Arch, where a huge limestone opening leads toward the Cumberland River and gives you one of those views that feels almost hidden from the rest of the world. This natural arch is believed to be around 300 million years old, standing about 60 feet high and stretching more than 120 feet wide, making it one of the most impressive rock formations in this part of Kentucky. When the river is low, you can walk beneath the arch and look out toward the Cumberland, but when the water is up, the arch can actually span over the river’s edge. A rugged trail leads down to it, and some visitors climb up to the top for a wider view of the river below, though it’s high, uneven, and known historically as a Native American burial ground, so it’s a place to treat with care and respect. The Rockhouse was also named a National Natural Landmark in 1987, and the nearby community of Creelsboro was once a busy Cumberland River stop during the old steamboat days. Today, this quiet spot below Wolf Creek Dam near Jamestown still feels like a tucked-away piece of Kentucky history.
