Hello! Long post, sorry, but please read it all. I can't believe it is almost September! I want to apologize for disappearing since the last auction. Life has been extremely busy some good some not so good. I've had some major health issues that I've been dealing with. It is really hard for me to get in the creative mood for creating art when I'm full of anxiety over my health. Enough about that though. The other thing that has kept me from creating glass is such great news that I want to share it with you. Those of you who have been here a long time might remember my son, Riley. Back then he created some of his own wind chimes to sell to make his own money. You guys were so great with showing him love and support. Well, Riley is now 20! Yikes, that makes me feel old! When he was 18, 6 months after graduating high school, he bought 5 acres of land at the end of the road we live on. Riley and Kevin (my husband, Riley's dad) came up with the idea to farm some of his land and then have a produce stand. He built a stand and we've all been working hard to help him. In the process, we decided to try making banana, zucchini and other breads. Well, oh my has that ever exploded! It has turned into something bigger than any of us expected. Between harvesting the vegetables, maintaining his stand, and making an average of 150 loaves of bread every week we've all been so, so busy! It is a great busy though and makes my heart so happy to help Riley. He is hoping to make enough money that slowly, year by year, he can build himself a house on that land. Riley has been serving free coffee at his stand on Saturday mornings. He has a sitting area and even has a beautiful old water wagon that he has decorated up for people if they want to come take family photos. He has produce out all week long at the self serve stand and on Saturday mornings is when he puts the bread out.
We came up with the idea that maybe I should bring some of my glass down to his stand. I decided to try it out this coming Saturday, September 5th. I'll be down there at his stand with a table of my glass. We'd like to welcome you to come get some free coffee, buy some bread or produce and maybe see if there is any of my glass you'd like to buy. I'll be there at 8:00 in the morning on Saturday until probably around noon or maybe later depending on customer levels. His stand is on the corner of Fox Rd and Highway 14 halfway between Janesville and Evansville. If you can, please stop by to say Hi. I'd love to see you and show you what Riley has been up to. 🥰
