Flowers are for you. For your early mornings, your hurried dinners, your late nights - moments you wish you could slow down (and smell the flowers).

Every season is fast, but that’s all the more reason we’ve gotta appreciate them for all that they bring us. Flowers that shift with the seasons help us do just that.

We are already prepping for next season’s blooms - our fall and spring flowers are PRISTINE - from dahlias and dinner plate mums to tulips and peonies, they really are the queens of the field

This is truly the best smelling thing I grow on my farm. I’m proud of these stems, and I know they’ll look great in your home - whether with flowers or on their own!

The Second Stretch:
Oxford Proper
Oxfordshire//The Cotswolds
Batsford Arboretum

We mostly stole glances at private gardens and strolled public footpaths and mainstreets of tiny Cotswolds towns like Moreton-in-Marsh and Bourton-on-the-Water. 😍😍😍

We also perused Batsford Arboretum & Garden Centre and had an absolute ball.

Some lovely takeaways from the gardens we visited
- Long views are even better when there’s somewhere for the eye to rest. Even better: multiple layers for the eye to travel
- Sheep and Mild mannered cows are lovely companions on walking paths
- British gardens loveeee a climber. Seen in these photos are a climbing ficus and several rose varieties. All delicious.
- Gardens that feel like they’ve been there forever invite you to stay and give you places to linger, over smells and things to study, and often with perfectly positioned places to sit and think for as long as your toddlers will let ya.
- I will have a kissing gate in my garden, even if I don’t have livestock. How stinking cutesy!?
- Every good garden has a fat cat. Lemmy cat has some pounds to pack on.
- Last, but certainly not least, gardens are usually publicized from perspectives that make them look larger and more perfect than they really are. Don’t let photographs of other places give you fomo for the gardens and spaces you’re creating.

So much love for the Cotswolds. We will definitely be back.

Fam - Prepare to be Spammed.

We just got back from a WHIRLWIND trip centered around touring some of the best gardens in the UK.

I’m going to share some of my take aways here from each of those gardens over the next few days.

Here’s Day 1: Great Dixter, East Sussex

Known for its Long Border, Sunken Garden, ((and probably only to me)) as the most densely planted garden I’ve ever visited

Some of my favorite things:
- using evergreens to frame a space and direct lines of sight
- scale of plants to anchor spaces
- repetition of plants/colors/textures
- very very little negative spaces
- acknowledging how hardscaping impacts shading and playing into the limits of the space

On brand, it rained the whole time we were there visiting, but the colors were so vivid and vibrant - I’d love to return on a sunnier day and take me time perusing every niche, but I’m so glad this was our first garden stop.
