Join us on 10/4 Buckley Vineyards | Ellijay, GA to capture harvest time in oil pastels! We’ll practice blending and textural techniques using this warm palette. No experience necessary, and all materials and homemade cookies are included. W**e and other beverages are available for purchase. Live music and food trucks will be onsite!

$5 from every ticket will go to help Appalachian Children's Center (Appalachian Children’ Center)!

I am very excited to be selected to participate in ArtWalk in downtown Jasper ob Sept. 26th and to partner with Cindy Rackley Sewell at First Mountain Salon Suites LLC . I just love Cindy’s space in a big red brick historic building on Main St.! I hope you’ll be there!

The next ArtWalk Jasper is coming to downtown Jasper on 𝐒𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐝𝐚𝐲, 𝐒𝐞𝐩𝐭. 𝟐𝟔, 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝟐–𝟖 𝐩.𝐦.!

Join us for an afternoon and evening filled with juried and vendor art, live music up and down Main Street, food trucks, a kids' area and more. 🎨🎶✨

“Zeus”, 8”x12” Charcoal Drawing Commission: It was a fun challenge to draw this boy looking upward in this foreshortened pose. Instead of copying what I see in the photo, I try to capture a likeness and personality and use a few elements of the background to create a setting. I pared down the detail in the rug as it evolved-see photos of the process!

We had a blast painting clouds Buckley Vineyards | Ellijay, GA on Sunday! I just loved seeing everyone’s unique style emerge after we got warmed up with brushstroke practice and discussed landscape composition and color theory. A big thank you to Romell Ashby for these great photos and to Terrill with Keep Gilmer Beautiful who spoke about this great organization that cleans up our mountain community!

Great artwork starts with great drawing skills! In this class, we will cover all of the fundamental art principles and techniques using pencil, charcoal, oil pastels (drawing with paint!), watercolor, and acrylic paint. We will start with a series of drawing exercises. We’ll discuss and practice:

How to use VALUE and CONTRAST to create depth and realism in your drawing

How to SHADE and create TEXTURE and PATTERN with various media

How to use various GRID methods

How to draw in PERSPECTIVE

View historic art examples of Masters’ artwork

You will move on to painting exercises once you’ve completed the fundamental exercises at your own pace.

An interactive session for makers and artists to collaborate, connect, and spark new ideas! There is a wonderful collective energy that forms when people create things in the same space. Treat yourself to some artsy time for yourself in a warm and inviting space in a wonderful growing community. Bring a current project or one you have in mind, or I will provide inspiration if you need some. I am happy to critique your work and offer ideas about how to take it to the next level. Feel free to bring any snacks or beverages. I will have sparkling water and cookies!
