We will be closed today Sunday Jan 25th until Wednesday January 28th(maybe longer depending on the weather forecast Tuesday morning)due to dangerous weather conditions. Temperatures are expected to be down to 12 with wind chills hitting -5 to 5 degrees. Exposure if even for a few minutes can cause frost bite at these temps. Thank you for your understanding.

Someone asked me for this info. So I am sharing to make sure everyone has seen it.

Hours/Days of operation

January to July open 7 days a week from sunrise to sunset. When you hear the horn blow you have 20 minutes left before we close the gates. We are usually here about 30 minutes before Sunrise.

July to December open Thursday Friday Saturday Sunday. Sunrise to Sunset. We close Thanksgiving day. And we are closed from Dec 22 to January 3rd for the holidays.

Every year on the Friday following Thanksgiving we will begin our trout season. We will have trout until they're all caught. Which is usually before February 1st.

We have fishing kayaks 30 dollars for six hrs. Includes kayak paddle and life jacket. Must be 18 and older to rent one.

Flat bottom boats.
Must be 18 to rent boats.

1)Just the boat alone. 10

2)Boat trolling motor 2 batteries life jackets for 2 people throwable and paddle 50. This is for the whole day or whenever you choose to return it.

3) We can adjust the price depending on what equipment you may have of your own.

4) Boats have to be returned before sunset. When you hear that first horn. Stop and come in.

5)Unload all the equipment into the cart. Pull the boat back up on the bank. Remove plug. Return plug and all other equipment to the shop.

They just pulled up and surprised me with an extra load of catfish about 30 minutes ago.

We received yet another load of nice catfish today. All sizes. 8oz and up to about 3.5 or 4lbs.

Its a little cool but not cold. And the fish are desperate to eat and stay warm. Come feed one some worms put on its Slap Yo Mama pajamas and put it to bed in some nice oil.

For those that didnt already know. Restocking of catfish usually happens in December and January. We were brought SEVERAL THOUSAND pounds of catfish during the Christmas shutdown for the lake.

Day before yesterday they put well over a thousand pounds in the pond.

We are also scheduled to receive SEVERAL THOUSAND more pounds of catfish this month for the lake.

So we have tons of newly stocked catfish....literally.

These catfish are 10 inches and up. With a lot being about 16 inches. About the length of fingertip to elbow for the average person.

These fish will tend to congregate together at first then slowly disperse. If you start catching fish after fish but theyre running smaller than you like. Well you'll be better off moving to a new spot.

Just like always you are not required to keep everything that you catch. If you catch a fish and if its not what you're looking for and can be released well enough to survive you can toss it back. This will allow them to grow.

They did not and have not stocked crappie in as long as I can remember. They dont have to. Crappie multiply like crazy and sampling, catch records and scoping says we have more than enough crappie. Ask anyone with a live scope. We are loaded with crappie.

We look forward to a third record attendance and catch record year. Two years in a row we have exceeded in both permits sold and fish caught than at any other time in this lakes 67 yr history. And we are very thankful for that!

Nice haul of trout this morning. 11 trout.

We still have trout in the pond. Including 2 palomino/golden colored ones worth 100 dollars each. These were caught yesterday. I had 3 people who trout fished and all caught their limits with an average of 1.3lbs per fish. These were caight yesterday.
