Why a mural at Hensley Plaza? Because this wall has a story to tell.

The building dates back to 1935 and was once part of Jasper’s civic life as the former City Hall and Jail. The upcoming hand-painted mural is being created to honor the people, places, and symbols connected to Pickens County’s history and local culture.

Our hope is that it becomes more than a mural: a place to pause, learn, take a photo, and feel connected to the community.

The Hensley Plaza heritage mural is officially underway!

Over the next several days, you may see the artist working on the wall next to The Wall Street Barber. This hand-painted mural is designed to honor Jasper’s history, local culture, and the story of this 1935 property.

We’re excited to watch it come to life!

Hensley Plaza was glad to host a daytime beginner dance event on Wednesday, June 24th.

It was a great afternoon of movement, connection, and community!
