I have not posted anything new in a week or so. Here are some new treasures! I recently acquired a collection of WWII and some Vietnam items. It has been very interesting . I am going to copy/paste what ChatGPT says, if you are a history buff like me you will enjoy it also. My grandfather was at Normandy and thankfully made it back home.

Exercise Tiger was a full-scale rehearsal for the D‑Day invasion.
• It took place on April 27–28, 1944, at Slapton Sands in Devon, England.
• German E-boats from Cherbourg slipped into the English Channel and attacked the convoy at night.
• Many soldiers drowned because they wore their life belts incorrectly or jumped into cold water weighed down by heavy gear.

Why it was kept secret
• The disaster was classified to avoid revealing invasion plans.
• Survivors were ordered not to talk about it.
• The public didn’t learn the full story until decades later.

Historical significance
• Exercise Tiger had more American deaths (749) than the actual Utah Beach landings on D-Day (197 killed).
• Lessons learned helped improve procedures—especially:
• Proper life jacket training
• Better radio communication
• Es**rt protection for invasion convoys
