Second Source Thrift Store Community Outreach and Happy Shopping! Shop for a cause and donate your old clothing, books, electronics and more at the Second Source Thrift Store.

Our proceeds help fund Appalachian Outreach and have helped to fund the construction of Samaritan House Family Ministry Center in Jefferson City! Come see our ever-expanding departments and expect to pay crazy low prices. We look forward to seeing you, shoppers. cond Source works like most other vintage stores: we sell new and gently used products to all customers who are interested. All of our proceeds go to charity and the maintenance of the store. We accept donations directly to the store as well as through Appalachian Outreach Ministries.

Nominated by Lori Mcgaha, John was chosen for his lifetime of volunteer work for Appalachain Outreach and Second Source Ministries. This week I want to have a huge shout out to these 3 ladies of Second Source. Beulah, Pat, and Phyliss. These 3 volunteers work so very hard and I want to recognize them. You may not see them in the store but they are hard at work in the back. Beulah works on the clothes and also takes home lots of stuff to price and launder and bring back including all the jewelry at Second Source. Pat is our crafts and linens lady. Not only does she work at SS she has a full time job where she also serves others. Phyliss is another one that we adore. Her smile and humor always keep the spirits up in the store. She is another that takes her work home with her. Pat and Phyliss both have been dealing with medical issues this year and yet still manage to come in and give freely of their time to serve this community. We are blessed to have them as friends and volunteers at Second Source!!! Thank you Ladies!

This weeks Highlighted volunteers are Barbara and John. Both have been here since Before day one of the store and have worked ever since. Barbara and her husband Phil have been a big part of our community all these years with Barbara working at the store to serve others and the animal shelter with Phil. Barbara and Phil will be sadly leaving us in July to move to Knoxville for retirement where she already has plans to volunteer her time to another outreach program. We can't say enough how much we will truly miss her. If you have ever been in the store you would have seen John zipping past you working in and out of the store. He not only works very hard at the store but he also works very hard at Appalachian Outreach. I have never seen a more driven work ethic than this man. He serves his community everyday, all day with intent to make it better. He hates his picture made but I am sneaky sneaky and got him in action! LOL! We Love John!
