We had some new-to-us customers come in today, and while we work really hard to prevent mistakes, an incident occurred that prompted this message.
We run a small crew here at the Green Leaf, mostly because it is family-run and financially we are not large enough to have a ton of extra staff!
With that said, we are not a fast food establishment (we do make all items to order unless you are grabbing from the bakery case or merchandiser), and wait times here have been known to reach up to 30 minutes to get your food on a crazy busy day. Today was not a crazy busy day, it was just a simple mistake.
These specific customers came to the front counter, where management was on the phone talking to a customer, but did let the couple know it would be a moment for someone to help them.
Four minutes after the couple arrived, the waitress came up, and they were seated.
The table next to them was ready to order, so our girl took that table's order. She had an alcoholic drink to make, and got that started and dropped the drink off at the table (8 minutes later), She is training on making drinks and forgot to the let the other server know to go and take thier order, when they were ready.
The couple was getting up to leave and visibly upset when she was dropping off the drink, so she came back to let management know. When management approached them and apologized, even offered to comp their meal, they declined and left. They indicated they saw 3 different people with aprons on and no one came to help them.
We always hate when customers are not satisfied at the Green Leaf, because we strive for excellence and customer service is our number one priority! Unfortunately, small things like this are not always forgiven easily for mom and pop shops.
However, things happen, and although this is a rare occurrence, this is a public service announcement that there may be a wait, there may not be anyone at the front counter (there is a sign and a bell that says "ring for service"), it may seem crazy sometimes and we will likely make mistakes now and then
BUT
We are working very hard to serve you; we are working even harder to make sure you are happy, and we appreciate your patience and grace in knowing that we will always work that hard to make the wait worth it.
We are sorry to the couple who had a bad experience and left without allowing us to make it right; we hope that you give us another try someday soon!
Warmly,
Green Leaf Management & Team
