This episode of Monday Marketplace at Country Needleworks is a little different. The national Knitted Knockers is presenting us with a challenge. It involves making knitted knockers and returning them unstuffed to our store by September 30. Five people nationwide will receive a $25 gift certificate to their yarn store. At Country Needleworks, we’ll keep count of the pairs turned in and give a $50 gift certificate to that person with the most pairs completed by September 30. An MKAL social knitting group will meet at the store every Wednesday from 10:00-noon through the month of October. Patterns and the approved yarn, of Universal Bamboo Pop or Berroco Modern Cotton DK in flesh tones, is readily available. If you can’t make it to the social knitting groups, you are still welcome to contribute your knockers to the store. Country Needleworks will be collecting the knockers year around for this worthy cause. Let’s make a difference for the cancer community!

The Knitted Knocker challenge starts tomorrow, September 1! We’re planning for a fun Knocker MKAL kick-off on Wednesday, September 2 at Country Needleworks from 10:00- noon. There will be a $25 gift certificate registry and 15% off approved Knocker yarn for that day only. We would love for you to join us!

In our Sandnes Garn fi*****ng weight corner for our Monday Marketplace, we are showing a new crocheted sweater model made from Tynn Line. This oversized sweater, called Tropez, is constructed flat and joined with slip stitches for an added design. The overall lace pattern and style can be worn over any type of clothing; dress, tank, or long sleeve shirt. Tynn Line is made from 53% cotton, 33% rayon, 14% linen with 241 yds in a 50 gram ball. With this fiber content, it’s perfect for garments that can transition through the seasons. Also, check out the other little dresses that we have made from this yarn.

Knitters and crocheters, here’s a great opportunity to join others across the nation who are making Knockers for the Knocker Challenge that runs through the end of September. At Country Needleworks, we will have a two month MKAL starting on Wednesday, Sept 2, 2026 from 10:00 - noon. A $25 gift certificate will be awarded that day along with 15% discount on the approved yarns for that day only. Also, a $50 gift certificate will be given to the person who contributes the most pairs of Knockers through Sept. 30!
