Kate here - just found a Charlotte Tilbury lipstick in shade “pillow talk” when we were moving the Jair. I know that’s a good brand, so thought I should post that we found it!

25th Anniversary art show has been held over and we’ll be open Thursday and Friday 11-3 in the 324east space (10-5 in the Nelson Fine Art space). After this the show comes down. This has been a great way to see folks who have exhibited here over the past 25 years!

I think 25th anniversary show is mostly ready. Much thank yous to Cornett and Joan Elliott for setting this show and to the 64 artists represented. Art Brown pored over every piece and created professional tags for them all.

Opens First Friday June 5, 6:00-8:00 pm in Downtown Johnson City with refreshments and artists on hand. It’s been really nostalgic recalling past shows as we hang this! And so much thanks to Kate Pierce for this idea and concept and all of the “what ifs.” There may be a few surprises Friday night.

Hey everyone! With the big weekend approaching I wanted to give a quick rundown of events, times and places.

Friday night will be the opening night of Scotty's artshow at Nelson Fine Art and Frames (205 Colonial Way, JC). The family will be hosting a reception there at 7 Friday night. Johnson City will be having their monthly first Friday event so there will be extra traffic downtown, please plan accordingly. Please do not use the parking lot adjecent to Nelson Fine Art and Frames, it is a private lot and you will be towed. If you cannot make it Friday night his show will be available for viewing Saturday afternoon from 12:00-2:30 or by appointment.

Before we kick things off at Tennessee Hills (458 W Walnut St, JC) on Saturday we are going to have a second line style parade through the neighboring tree streets with the help of the Bad Cats Brass Band. If you want to participate in the parade please be at Tennessee Hills by 3. The final event will be at Tennessee Hills from 4-8. Hound Dogs food truck will be there with a little something special for Scotty. DJ Be Shuffler will kick things off and then Hot Carl will take the stage. Please try not to park in the Tennessee Hills parking lot so that we will have extra space for all of you lovely people to mingle around. You may also want to bring a camp chair. We are so excited to celbrate Scotty and can't wait to see everyone!

Call for artists: Nelson Fine Art is having a 25th anniversary show, opening June 5 in 324east (formerly The Nelson Fine Art building in Downtown Johnson City, TN). If you have been exhibited here during the past 25 years or know artists who have been, we’d like to exhibit one of your works during this celebration. It can be current or past work, for sale or nfs. Please dm us here for more details by May 8. There are about 1000 artists that have displayed artwork here over the decades so please don’t wait til May 8. Space is a little limited.

Recently, Kate Pierce and I attended the WCAF (West Coast Art & Frame Expo) in Orlando, FL. We explored around 100 vendors, including moulding suppliers, equipment manufacturers, mat companies, and software providers. In other words we totally nerded out! It was a fantastic opportunity to connect with framers from across the country and exchange ideas with some of the brightest minds in our industry. As a result, we’ll be receiving nearly 100 new frame samples, gaining some behind-the-scenes support from our software provider, and walking away with a fresh boost of inspiration and motivation.
