We all need comfort. This short little passage sets me at ease. When we get to the point where we become weary, God is there by giving rest to the us. We can also receive joy in times of sorrow. Christ is always there to help and strengthen.

The Trout Commander:

To repent is to step away from where you are now going and turn to a new life. When we turn to God and give up our old lifestyle, all the old in our life may be wiped away. The old has passed away and a new life has begun.
This year is still new and there is no better way to go into it as being a new and changed person.

Continue to pray for our nation. May our leaders get back in touch with the people they represent.

The Trout Commander:

As you read today's passage does it remind you of another verse similar to what this says? I immediately thought of John 3:16. For God loved us so much He gave His only son so those that believed in Him could live forever.
Today's verse says that God showed His love to us by sending His only Son into this world that we might live through Him.
Notice that in both verses it is by choice to accept or reject. With a promise like this why would anyone reject the love that God sent down to us through His Son.
It's a new year and just as the calendar has changed maybe it's time for change in our lives.
