Safety Information! As some of you may have noticed, and for those that did not... With the recent redo of Menoher Blvd, PennDOT has installed an overhead LED flashing Pedestrian Crossing Signal at the intersection of Menoher Blvd and Diamond Blvd. This is the main crossing to get across to the Westmont Hilltop Elementary School. And with the start of the upcoming school year, as pedestrians, you should step up to either corner, push the button and the lights will begin to flash for aprrox 20-25 seconds. By pushing the button, it does not mean driver's must come to a stop, but drivers must yield the right-of-way to anyone within the crosswalks. Driver's should be prepared to stop if need be. Pedestrians should use good judgement when first stepping up to the corner and activating the signal and still look both ways before crossing - entering the roadway. Morning and afternoon drivers should be more aware of this change and the possibility that adults or children may be crossing. Please be safe.
