After moving locations, it is so hard to get all set up again. Although the quilting room is done, this table runner gave me some challenges in the photo department! A new place means figuring out how to get the lighting just right. It is so important to use natural lighting to get the true colors to speak in your photos. I am sure many of you know what I mean!

The quilting room in the new house in Colorado is finally all unpacked and set up. Whew! What a chore! But, after moving my machines and worktables around several times, I think I have things just right to get back to work!

I don't know how I missed posting this one! This photo quilt was was made early last year as a Dad/son memory quilt. It turned out to be just what Mom wanted and it tells such a story, which I really enjoyed. Just beautiful! Photo credits: Designing Twining

As many of you know, the Hubby and I are moving from GA back to Colorado to be near our kids and grandkids in a matter of days. Wish us luck! It was heart wrenching to pack up my quilt room! (But, I found so many lost treasures!) Anyway, about 3 weeks ago I had 3 memory quilts to start. The pressure was enormous! But, last night I finished the last one! Wanna see?

I am slowing moving back into my quilting. A tumor was found on my parotid saliva gland in front of my ear in June (very small). By August, and two failed biopsies, it had to be removed because it had grown bigger than a golf ball (yes, on my face). Depression and anxiety reigned supreme! Within a month of the cancerous tumor removal (they got it all), I ended up in the hospital with diverticulitis (way worse than labor pains!). Anytime you have to stay overnight is too long! I am happy to say that I am finally feeling like a human again and have made a plan to get back to work. I seem to have lost my MOJO. SO, tomorrow, I will sort and reorganize my stash. That always makes me want to create! Then I should be ready to dive right in.

Here at Cherished Cabin Quilts, I have had oodles of orders coming in. Sadly, I had to turn down one that was just quilting a finished top. I finished and laundered this one yesterday, so I would be done before a medical procedure early this morning. It went perfectly! I came home a bit numb and went straight to bed. I got 6 hours of uninterupted sleep and awoke pain free! I know I will probably overdo it, but I have already started cleaning all the hard jobs that I couldn't get to before! My house will be so happy to be clean before Bart takes me to Chattanooga, TN for my birthday 🤩
