One of my favorite questions to ask when someone walks into 66 Roadside Welcome is:

“Where are you from?”

Because you never know what the answer is going to be.

Across town.
Across Missouri.
Across the country.
Or sometimes...

Across the world. 🌎

Every traveler who walks through our door brings a different story with them—where they started, where they’re headed, what they’ve seen and what brought them to Route 66 in the first place.

And I think that’s one of the things I love most about the Mother Road.

🚨 NEW ARRIVALS at 66 Roadside Welcome! 🚨

The store has been getting a little more crowded — and I’m perfectly happy about it! 😄

We’ve got new Route 66 hats, bags, socks, travel accessories, aprons, leather goods and more making their way onto the shelves.

Some are colorful. Some are classic. Some are just plain fun. And there are definitely a few things here I hadn't seen anywhere else along the road.

I’m so happy to share that Rita’s missing hearing aid has been FOUND! ❤️

Our young traveler from Portugal can now continue her journey across the U.S. with one less thing to worry about—and hopefully enjoy every sight, sound, story, and experience that her Route 66 adventure has to offer. 🇵🇹 🇺🇸 🛣️

A big THANK YOU to everyone who shared the original post, kept an eye out, and helped spread the word. It’s moments like this that remind me just how special the Route 66 community really is.

🚨 ROUTE 66 FRIENDS — PLEASE KEEP AN EYE OUT! 🚨

A young traveler from Portugal, Miss Rita, visited us at 66 Roadside Welcome this morning, and unfortunately she has lost one of her hearing aids somewhere along her Route 66 travels.

She and her traveling companions started out in Springfield, Missouri, so we’re asking our fellow Route 66 attractions, businesses, stops, and travelers along the way to please keep an eye out.

A hearing aid is such an important—and difficult to replace—item while traveling, especially when you’re visiting from another country. We would love to see a little Route 66 kindness help reunite this one with its owner. ❤️
