Why Boutique Over Thrift?

When we leaned in to listen for the still, small voice of God on how to set up the mercantile, He answered with a question of His own: “What kind of space do you want to invite them into?”

In impoverished areas, those in lack or poverty are often welcomed into spaces that mirror their circumstances. But God showed us something different.

A boutique. Not for the sake of trend or status. But for the gentle lift beneath the chin. A space curated with beauty, dignity, and hospitality—without sticker shock.

Because restoration doesn’t begin with a transaction. It begins with how we see ourselves. And every person who walks through our doors deserves to be met with class, warmth, and the quiet assurance: You belong here.

Root & Bloom Mercantile isn’t just a shop. It’s a message. And this is how we tell it.

We get asked a lot about donation drop off; it’s a great question! We’ve synced up our hours of operation with donation drop offs.

Fridays & Saturdays from 10 am - 3 pm, you can shop, drop off or do both.

It’s a win-win. 😊

We're Looking for a Few More Hands 🌿

Root & Bloom Mercantile is opening its doors to new volunteers — and we'd love for you to be part of it.

We're looking for people to serve as Hosts (running checkout, welcoming guests, holding down the shop) and as part of our Donations & Sorting team (keeping our shelves full of good things).

This isn't a "sign up and see" kind of role — we're looking for people who are ready to show up, learn the ropes, and become part of something steady. Serious inquiries only, please.

If that sounds like you, come meet with us in person this Friday or Saturday between 11 - 2. We'd love to talk with you about what the roles look like and see if it's a good fit both ways.

At Unedited Life, we don't have a "staff" that does the work for an "audience." We are a family where everyone carries a piece of the weight. We lead by going first, and we grow by leaning in.

Important Community Announcement Regarding Donations

We love our community, and we are deeply grateful for the generosity that allows us to serve you. However, we need to address a growing issue that directly impacts our ability to keep our doors open.

Recently, we have seen an increase in donations being left outside our building when we are closed. Please do not drop off donations outside operating hours.

Here is why this protocol is critical:

Security & Resources: Unattended items draw undue attention to the premises. We do not have the financial or physical resources to implement extra security measures.

Respect for Our Volunteers: Our mercantile relies on just five core volunteers. They give their time, care, and love out of a genuine heart for this community, but they also have full lives, families, and jobs outside of these walls.

Limited Capacity: We simply do not have the manpower to operate beyond our current hours.

Safe Drop-off Times:
Friday: 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Saturday: 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM

These are the only safe donation windows where team members are present to process and secure your items properly.

When items are left outside, it adds immense pressure to an already lean team.

Continuing to dump donations outside of these hours feels like a mark of disrespect to our volunteers and forces our small crew to reconsider if we can sustainably continue this work.

We want to keep serving you. We ask you to partner with us in this mission by respecting our hours and holding your donations until a team member is here to receive them.
