POV: It’s been lovingly joked that my style gives off “horse lei” energy. Honestly? I see it, and I’ll gladly take that as a compliment. 🫶🏽🌿

Paʻū has always been one of my greatest design inspirations, so that influence has never been accidental.

My first image of princesses wasn’t Disney; it was Paʻū court in Hawai‘i’s festival parades.

Now, I catch that same floral design language in red carpet styling, and it reminds me that trusting your own creative instincts is always worth it.

So yes—I’m going to keep making my bambucha pieces, and we’re going to keep wearing them.

I’ve always loved the power of working with just one to three elements. There’s something so striking about letting the material itself become the focal point of a piece.

This variety of anthurium has always been my favorite. I’m drawn to its sleek, pointed architecture and the natural high-gloss finish that catches the light—reminding me of red patent leather or the perfect red lipstick.

The combination of red and yellow feels timeless, like a little black dress or a classic string of pearls. Maybe that’s why this anthurium speaks to me so loudly.

Designer Note: My style usually leans toward big whimsical, garden tea party energy, so creating this piece required me to rewire my design brain a bit. I had to train my hands to keep the fern placement no wider than two inches, precision that doesn't always come naturally to me. But, here we are.
