Later on, I’m going to share both times ColeGotCandy was targeted by scammers through Facebook Messenger 😒
What’s really diabolical is the amount of times I’ve actually been scammed in my life. Not almost scammed. SCAMMED. Lost hundreds of dollars more than once.
A couple of those times, my children never even knew because I was too ashamed to tell them.
It’s a hard pill to swallow when life already feels like a scam sometimes, and then somebody comes along and literally scams you 😩
What amazes me is the amount of time these people will invest just to build a quick rapport with you. They’ll seem genuine, supportive, interested in your business, and before you know it, they’re trying to lead you down a rabbit hole.
And to make matters worse, I honestly think these last two attempts were the same person 🤦🏽♀️
The lesson? Protect your peace, protect your pockets, and verify EVERYTHING. Especially when you’re a small business owner. These scammers are working overtime.
Thankfully, ColeGotCandy is still standing and still growing 🙏🏽
