Fish and game commission comment opportunity
Our region one commissioner Ian Wargo has submitted some amendments to the upcoming regulations. I’ve personally taken the time to get more informed about the process and what’s happening in region 1 fisheries and had discussions with commissioners, biologists and region 1 staff and I’m encouraged by what I’m learning. I’m thankful for commissioner Wargo and his commitment to the awesome fisheries we have in our region. I’m really pleased to see these proposals and I encourage all of my fellow anglers to read through the amendments and to comment to the commission before the October 9 deadline https://fwp.mt.gov/aboutfwp/commission/october-2026-meeting scroll down to the bottom and click on the “Wargo amendments “ drop box there is where you can comment on each amendment.
This is our opportunity to make a difference and be heard. The commission has the power to make the changes and take p***c comments into consideration when doing so. We saw this work first hand this spring when we voiced our concerns and they made the changes we requested! These amendments come from concerns local anglers have expressed and are requesting!
