One of my favorite compliments is when someone looks at an arrangement and says, “That’s definitely a Sunday Morning Flowers bouquet” or “That has Leah written all over it.”

There’s just something really special about realizing I’ve created a style that feels recognizable as mine. 🥹

I don’t know exactly what makes a bouquet a “Leah bouquet”… but I love that you guys know one when you see one. 🤍

Okay, apparently we’re doing Fun Facts About Your Florist Friday. 😂 New series? 👀

Because I talk about flowers all the time, but some of you probably don’t know much about the person making them.

So, round one:

• I’m originally from North Carolina and truly love being Southern, but Northern Michigan has a chunk of my heart now.

• I’m not a morning person (despite the name) or a night owl. I just prefer a smaller wake window, when possible.

• I think peanut butter & jelly sandwiches are HIGHLY underrated.

• I’m a phone call person over a text person. Please and thank you.

• I buy clothes I love in multiples. Like 3–5 of the exact same thing. You know… in case something happens to one. It probably should be studied.

Happy American Business Women’s Day! 🤍 We have SO MANY amazing women in business here, and I love a women-hyping-women kind of world.

I recently had a conversation with Chrissie Feike of Feike Insurance here in Kalkaska, and I just love her. Her heart for our community, for giving, and for other people is something special. I admire her as a business owner, but even more as a good human being. She puts so much good into the world, and I wanted to give her a little extra love today.

It’s been a strange, kind of hard few weeks. Just busy. Work and life and all the things. And honestly, it feels like life has been a little heavy for so many lately.

Yesterday I mentioned to a friend how much I love when butterflies appear. They’ve always brought me this weird little sense of peace.

Then today, right by the flower shop door, we found a monarch chrysalis. 🥹

I love how God plants little things like that right when I need them most. Almost like a little “I love you.” A reminder that life changes, but it will still be beautiful.

And maybe I’m a little sentimental, but finding it right by the door of this very special place of mine felt like a little sign from Him. 🤍

One year ago, I got the keys to this little shop.

And honestly, I still sit in my chair sometimes and just look around and can’t believe what I’ve built here.

This space feels so much like home. But more than that, it gave Sunday Morning Flowers the room to really grow.

Every wedding that has come through these doors. Every birthday, anniversary, hard occasion and just because. The classes, the crazy busy days, flowers covering every available surface. Somehow even Business of the Year.

I love having Heidi and Fallon here and the little community that has grown inside these walls, too.

A year ago I knew I loved this space. I just don’t think I realized yet what it was going to make possible.

One year with the keys. And sometimes I still just sit here, look around and think… I built this. 🤍

Flowers have this funny way of making an ordinary day feel a little less ordinary.

A few stems on the kitchen counter. Something bright sitting on your desk. A little bouquet you grabbed just because it made you happy.

Nothing big. Nothing fancy. Just a little something pretty in the middle of our daily life. 🤍
