She has been continuously inspired by the thousands of students and clients met—and the challenges they endure. Amazed by their strength, resilience, and courage—and saddened by the

ir hurts, “aloneness,” and unfulfilled needs, Karen has spent her career seeking ways to is help those young people and adults build skills and confidence that will help make their world a better place. That quest led to opening a retail outlet that offers items that are unique and special, and that support the concept of celebrating inner and outer beauty. The original gift shop opened downstate, in Blissfield, MI where it grew and became part of a great community for four years. Now open in Kalkaska, MI, inside Past To Present Emporium, as well as with a booth inside The Old Lumberyard Shoppes in Grayling, MI, the journey continues. The shop truly feels like a culmination of a career dedicated to helping people to build on their strengths, and to "celebrate their beauty, inside and out."
