Just a few weeks ago, an author that has deeply inspired me walked into our shop. What no one knew at the time was that I was quietly working on the final edits of a deeply personal project that I was preparing to send to the printers. The idea of it was born many years ago, but bringing it to life became a strong motivation within me this past year especially.

After a lot of introspection and editing, what emerged was a small collection of writings born from years of creating, questioning, unraveling, and transforming. The longest and deepest part of the process was in finding the words that felt genuine, raw, and honest to what I have lived and am living, which felt more important than anything.

Sharing art that is personal is inevitably vulnerable… and I have yet to find a way around that truth. As an artist, I’ve learned that not everyone will connect with or approve of what I create—and I’m slowly embracing the reality that that’s okay… and more so, that it’s simply an unavoidable aspect of life.

At some point, I have to decide whether or not I’ll keep hiding parts of myself in order to be more palatable… but to do so is what I’d call “living a half life,” and I have no interest in that.

So… here it is, my first little book. Honest and imperfect. ❤️. Copies are now available in the shop.

I still can’t believe it, and I am still completely swimming in the clouds after this experience. I’ve been inspired by her writing for years, and when we opened back in 2022, I was excited to have the opportunity to share her work with others, as it had deeply impacted me. I immediately got all of her books and displayed them proudly on their own shelf. I would slowly sift through each of these books over time… each of them read so differently, serving a different purpose on any given day. I have watched as people of all ages and genders have picked up her books, some for the very first time, and stumbled upon wisdom they perhaps didn’t realize they were searching for. I have watched people cry opening up her book to a random page, I have seen them sit on the floor of our shop in awe of the words that were suddenly placed before them. I think she writes from a universal place that speaks to everyone no matter where they’re at in their journey. She writes from humility, vulnerability and from her own lived experience… and she cuts right to the heart of the essence of our collective doubt and our shared human experience. Sometimes I would dream… or imagine, that perhaps one day on her way to somewhere she would happen to walk into our shop, and find her collection of books on our shelf. I’ve never quite believed in “manifesting”… or perhaps I’ve doubted my own capacity for such a thing, but yesterday for me, was proof in the infinite magic of the universe. It was tangible proof that the frequency we surround ourselves with, does in fact radiate outwards. And then it happened: walked right into our shop on her way to somewhere… and I could barely believe my eyes. She stood there with her fiancé, in shock that all of her books were there sitting on a shelf and turned to me and said “you have all of my books.” I was trying to assimilate reality 🤣. “OMG it’s you!” I exclaimed. With tears in my eyes, I asked if I could hug her - she kindly accepted. She even generously offered to sign each book. She was genuine, humble, generous, funny, and kind. She was exactly who I imagined she would be. And it made me love her writing even more. ❤️‍🔥

Fire Horse 🔥

This piece stopped us in our tracks the moment it arrived.

Created by Kanab artist Marc Supancich, “Fire Horse” is his tribute to the Year of the Horse — but it feels like much more than a calendar or symbol. It carries movement, instinct, spirit… a kind of ancient remembering. The markings, the heat in the color, the quiet power in the stance — it feels alive, like it’s walking between worlds.
purplethistle has a way of listening to something deeper and translating it into form. Not forcing meaning, but allowing it to emerge. You can feel the reverence in his lines, the intuition in his hand, the connection to something spiritual and untamed.

We’re constantly in awe of the artists we get to share space with — and this piece is a reminder of what happens when someone creates from that place of devotion, presence, and trust.

Come see Fire Horse in person. The energy of it is something a photo can’t fully hold!❤️‍🔥
