Just a few weeks ago, an author that has deeply inspired me walked into our shop. What no one knew at the time was that I was quietly working on the final edits of a deeply personal project that I was preparing to send to the printers. The idea of it was born many years ago, but bringing it to life became a strong motivation within me this past year especially.
After a lot of introspection and editing, what emerged was a small collection of writings born from years of creating, questioning, unraveling, and transforming. The longest and deepest part of the process was in finding the words that felt genuine, raw, and honest to what I have lived and am living, which felt more important than anything.
Sharing art that is personal is inevitably vulnerable… and I have yet to find a way around that truth. As an artist, I’ve learned that not everyone will connect with or approve of what I create—and I’m slowly embracing the reality that that’s okay… and more so, that it’s simply an unavoidable aspect of life.
At some point, I have to decide whether or not I’ll keep hiding parts of myself in order to be more palatable… but to do so is what I’d call “living a half life,” and I have no interest in that.
So… here it is, my first little book. Honest and imperfect. ❤️. Copies are now available in the shop.
