Many of you have reached out to me as I have been a bit MIA from Holden’s House. I am overwhelmingly appreciative of the responses I have received when I have been transparent about the current status of the business. I apologize for taking far too long for making this announcement, so I figured now is a better time than ever.
If you follow me or know me personally, then you know we are expecting baby number two this April. My pregnancy has come with a few complications that while not very serious, have effected my abilities to juggle all of the balls in the air at once. Holden’s House took off much faster than I anticipated and grew at a rate that was unforeseen. With product being scouted for multiple stores in several states, sales in over 10 states, and one brick and mortar location containing product, you can imagine the workload for a one-woman show. When my husband and I made the decision for me to quit working to stay home with our son, my life took on a whole new purpose. HE was my purpose. While a successful small business is nothing to be ashamed of, the dynamic between my everyday life with Holden was quickly becoming something I wasn’t proud of. Many days were spent with him watching far too much Mickey Mouse while a stressed out mom had to constantly remind him that “mommy is working, hold on one second”. I am so incredibly thankful for the loyal customers and supporters and will forever be, but the reason I quit my job with a major healthcare company was to make my children my number one. With that being said, Holden’s House will be closed for the time being. There may be a time in the future when Holden’s House can become a priority when my children need me a little bit less.
I am so very grateful for the overwhelming success in such a short amount of time. This in no way feels like a failure to me as a “business owner” but rather a win as a mother and wife...after all my family is my reason for everything.
Thank you so much for the support and understanding ❤️
