✨ My Heart Is Full ✨
This past weekend, I had the incredible honor of providing makeup services for my very first pageant experience with MissJuneteenthKC, founded by the amazing Key Peterson.
Walking into this event, I expected to do makeup. What I didn’t expect was to leave feeling inspired, encouraged, and deeply grateful.
For years, Key Peterson has poured into young women through this program, and seeing the impact firsthand was truly powerful. The atmosphere was filled with confidence, sisterhood, support, purpose, and love. From the contestants to their families, everyone showed up with such positive energy.
One of my favorite parts of the experience was allowing each young lady to express herself through her makeup. Every girl had her own vision, personality, and style, and it was an honor to help bring that vision to life. We laughed, shared stories, talked about their dreams, and celebrated this exciting milestone together.
What touched me most was hearing these young women speak about their futures. Their intelligence, ambition, confidence, and determination left a lasting impression on me. They are future leaders, entrepreneurs, educators, healthcare professionals, and change-makers, and I have no doubt they will accomplish incredible things.
I also want to take a moment to publicly thank my friend and fellow makeup artist, Morghan Borders. ❤️
Sometimes God answers prayers and opens doors through people. Morghan put my name in the room when I wasn’t there to speak for myself. She thought enough of my work, my character, and my talent to recommend me for this opportunity, and because of that, I was able to be part of something truly special.
In an industry where competition can sometimes be louder than community, Morghan chose support. She chose collaboration. She chose to celebrate another woman. That means more to me than words can express.
Morghan, thank you for believing in me, trusting me, and creating space for me. You may have simply made a recommendation, but the impact of that recommendation created memories and opportunities that I will carry with me for a lifetime. I love you, and I am forever grateful.
This experience reminded me that beauty is so much more than makeup. It’s about impact. It’s about relationships. It’s about uplifting one another and helping the next generation see what’s possible.
Thank you to Key Peterson, the Miss Juneteenth KC organization, the contestants, their families, and everyone involved for allowing me to be part of such a meaningful experience.
My 2026 has already been filled with amazing opportunities, but this experience has truly touched my heart.
God is so good. ❤️✨
