Cat is tired of being a single mom of five.

After spending the last month raising five four-week-old kittens, she’s apparently decided it’s time to recruit help from the chickens.

The interview process is ongoing.

Current applicants:
🐔 One security officer
🐔 One snack specialist
🐔 One emotional support chicken
🐔 One supervisor who contributes nothing but opinions

Flock update! 🐔

It’s been a few days since Sage, Rosemary, and Violet joined the flock, and everyone seems to be settling in.

The older girls are still doing their own thing—sunbathing, dust bathing, and hanging out under the bushes like they own the place. 😂

Meanwhile, Big Boy has completely adopted the new girls. He’s been spending most of his time with them, keeping watch while they explore their new home and helping them feel safe. Watching him take his job so seriously has been pretty sweet.

No major drama, no fights, and lots of loafing in the sunshine. I’d call that a successful introduction so far. ❤️

Welcome to the flock, Sage, Rosemary, and Violet! 💜🐔🌿

Today I brought home three beautiful Lavender Orpington pullets. Their smoky silver-lavender feathers are even prettier in person, and each one already has her own personality. One is spicy, one is sweet, and one is somewhere in between. One of them spent the entire ride home providing commentary from the back seat. 😂

The girls are settling into their new home while they get acquainted with Betty, Dolly, Gert, Rosa, Ruth, Clara, Annie, Flo, Barb, Jean, Ellie, Reba, Big Boy, and Fluffy.

I have a feeling these three are going to fit right in. 💜

“I am a magnificent dragon and these are my lands.”

Meet Big Boy, the newest addition to our flock. After June went missing, my girls needed a protector, and this handsome guy has stepped into the role beautifully.

Big Boy is a 100% Australorp and is absolutely gorgeous, healthy, and full of confidence. He’s only been with the flock a few days, but he’s already settling in and winning over the ladies.

My sweet June has been missing for almost 24 hours. I was hoping she just got spooked and hid at dusk but I wasn’t able to find her last night or this morning.

The rest of the flock was calm, and I saw no signs of a predator grabbing her. I’m worried about my pretty girl and I hope she is just hiding somewhere but it’s not looking good 😭
