I know it's not technically fall yet.. BUT it's September which means it's crunch time! I have my first fall event in a couple of weeks and need to crank out some pumpkins real fast (well as fast as these hands go 😉)

Then it's the final Prairie District event in Grand Island and then back to Steinbrink for their Winter Market!!

The most satisfying part of making everything is when I add the brand tags and wrap labels and add it to the restock bin!

Hi friends! It’s been a minute since I’ve posted here, but I’m still crocheting away over here at Modern Knot Studio. If you found us from Colleen Williams presents “Nebraska Made? I’ll Try It!” video, welcome! I’m so glad you’re here.

Quick heads up on how the waffle beanie orders are going to work this year. I’m moving away from doing so many fully custom color combos and instead I’ll be making beanies in colorways I love and listing each one separately. So what you see is what you get, no guessing off a color chart, just pick the one that speaks to you and it’s yours. 🩷

Why the change? The main reason is keeping up with custom turnaround while making sure every color combo is actually in stock got to be a lot, and I’d rather spend that time making things I’m excited about (which usually turns into better beanies for you anyway).

I’ll still take some customs, just fewer of them and with a little more breathing room on turnaround time. More on that soon.

Thanks for supporting slow, handmade, Nebraska-made goods. Beanie season is coming and I can’t wait!

Somewhere along the way we all just accepted that sponges are kind of… disposable and gross.

The Knot-a-Sponge is my answer to that. Hand-crocheted from 100% USA grown cotton, it scrubs, wipes, and holds up wash after wash! Just machine wash and lay flat to dry to keep it going strong. Most of mine can last a year or so, and when it’s finally ready to retire (think: fraying or a smell that won’t quit), you’ll know it’s done its job.
