Howdy, gamers!

It's Sunday again! Time for yet another post showing off one of the games on the floor to be discounted for our Feature Fridays promotion!

This week's game is a bit of an obscure game. Definitely unusual for Namco's wheelhouse, this one is one of the few redemption games that don't utilize its famous Pac-Man property. This week, we have Flamin' Finger!

Flamin' Finger is a game that was developed and released by Namco in 2003. It is an incredibly simple game, yet also features a high difficulty curve, presenting a challenge to players of any skill level.

Once a player starts the game, they are presented with a randomized LED maze that they must navigate using only their finger. Players are also given a time limit that is automatically proportional to the length and complexity of the maze that is generated.

Every time a player fails to get to the end, the ticket jackpot increases, and they are awarded a small number of tickets based on their progress when time ran out. But if a player manages to get all they way to the end, they are greeted with a jackpot celebration, and win all of the tickets that have accumulated in the jackpot bank up to that point.

Do you think you have what it takes to take the jackpot? Come on in this Friday, 9/4, and give it a try for yourself for half off!

Hello gamers!

It's Sunday, so you know what that means! Another game on the floor to be shown off and subsequently discounted by half for our Feature Fridays promotion!

This week's game is a local favorite among the rhythm game community, and one of the first we set up when we started building our rhythm game selection. (Forgive the old picture from when we had two of them. We have since had to return one of them to their original owner.) Our featured game is Wacca!

Wacca's development first began in 2017, with collaboration with HARDCORE TANO*C - Japan's biggest record label that focuses on hardcore techno music - in mind even during the earliest stages. The game is developer Marvelous's first arcade rhythm game, although not their first rhythm game, having developed the handheld IA/VT Colorful for the Playstation Vita in 2015.

The game cabinet itself had gone through 20 different prototypes, including several DJ desk styles as part of the control scheme, before finally settling on the design that we all know today. The original title was called "CircuRing", but "Wacca" was decided on to help differentiate it from other rhythm games by deliberately omitting music-related tropes. On top of the collaboration with HARDCORE TANO*C, there are various songs from other franchises like Touhou Project and Senran Kagura, along with other favorites like Neon Genesis Evangelion and How Heavy Are the Dumbbells You Lift?

Unlike most games that utilize rectangular monitors, Wacca uses a circular display screen enveloped on all sides by touch panels. The game is played by tapping the touch panels as the notes approach the edge of the display, but it isn't quite that simple. Along with tapping on the notes, there are also notes that require holding down the touch pad, sliding your hands left and right, and even forwards and backwards. Also, instead of increasing the difficulty using the tempo, Wacca ups the ante by adjusting necessary hand positioning on higher difficulties, requiring fast reflexes on top of the natural rhythm the genre requires.

So come on in this Friday, 8/28, and enjoy this modern classic for half off all day!
