Hacker-Pschorr Oktoberfest Märzen takes us back to the very roots of the world’s greatest beer festival.The name "Märzen" comes from the month of March; historically, brewing was forbidden during the hot summer months, so a stronger beer was brewed in March to be stored and enjoyed when the autumn festivities arrived.

Hacker-Pschorr has returned to this age-old recipe to recreate a gloriously smooth, honey-colored lager. It’s the exact same taste you’d find under the "Heaven of Bavaria"—their iconic festival tent in Munich.

For Day 17, we are heading up to the mountains of Stowe, Vermont, to feature Von Trapp Oktoberfest Lager. Coming from a brewery with deep Austrian roots, this full-bodied amber lager is a masterclass in the traditional Märzen style.

By using a blend of light and dark Munich malts, Von Trapp has created a rich profile with delicious notes of graham cracker, caramel, and toasted bread crust. Tonewood’s Biergarten is a beautiful example of a traditional Märzen, brewed with authentic Munich malts and a trio of classic German hops: Hallertau Mittelfrüh, Saaz, and Tettnanger.
