Over the summer I spent most of my free weekends reworking three rooms in my house. I’ve been putting off sharing them because they’re not quite perfect and of course I’m continuously editing them. But ya know, that’s going to go on forever… so I’m sharing my imperfectly perfect sitting porch. Because it’s my favorite space in my home. I start every day here with a cup of coffee and my sweet fur baby Oiseau. I’ve spent countless hours out here reading. (34 books this summer!) I purposefully chose pieces that remind me of the people that have owned giant chunks of my heart. Like the sacred heart statue that always sat on my Grandma’s dresser and the large shepherd print that hung above her organ. As well as photo from a charter fishing trip my Dad and I took, prints that were birthday gifts from my Mom and the gorgeous antique barrister my hubby gifted me. Eventually the ugly old gray carpet will get replaced with tile and the faux ferns will be replaced with live plants. But for now, I’ll just keep enjoying my peaceful little place I created for myself!
