I will be there!

This is momentous event which will have a deleterious effect not just for today, but in the days to come. Janalee Minnich Gage has posted this...

"I read this and it hurt.. it hurt because it's in Anchorage..I wonder how many of us can just show up down on Main street between the Ketchikan arts council and the First City players to show solidarity for our Alaska State Council on the Arts ..like say flash mob 4:30pm. Join us at the Alaska State Council on the Arts farewell"

The Alaska State Council on the Arts will close its doors for the last time Monday, July 15, when our state becomes the only one in the country without an arts council.

On behalf of the Alaska art community, I invite you to celebrate the work done by Alaska’s arts council and artists throughout the state, and to show solidarity with Alaskans impacted by this month’s budget cuts.

There will be an informal gathering at the ASCA agency headquarters, 161 Klevin St., Suite 102, at 4 pm Monday, July 15.

I am certain that the staff would very much appreciate your presence in recognition of their service.

NOTE: Participants encouraged to enact art through performative and visual methods all day, such as:

· Leave flowers, cards, and remembrances throughout the day.

This is the first time in 6 years ketch-i-kreatures! will not have a booth at the Ketchikan annual Blueberry Festival. I will be there enjoying the festival as a patron. YAY!! Can't wait to enjoy the festival from the other side. Yes, I will sleep in. Yes, I will not build my booth at 7:30 in the morning. Yes, I will go even if it is raining. Yes, I am bringing my wallet! Also, get your kiddos down there for the slug race. My sluggos will still be the prize for largest and fastest. See you there... Differently!

It has been a while! In that while a lot of life has happened. Those that are closest to me, often hear me say, "time goes by way too fast." I am so blessed to have accomplished so many of my goals. I ran across this photo and just had to repost. One of my favorites.

Happy October ONE!!!! We are out of the shop! Whoop howdy! We did it!!! New day, New week, New month, New chapter! People have been asking, will I do the fairs?Nope. Not going to do any fairs. I am a creative soul. I will create. I love you and this page and will post creations and make sales here. I won't be making mass quantities, or doing custom orders, or taking orders. I will make no more batches. There is fabric here I have been trying to get my hands on for two years! I am excited. I am happy. Change is hard but it's good for your brain. Here is to new beginnings, cheers!!! (Clink coffee cups, tea cups, water bottles, or the drink of your choice world wide!)

Today we are starting a very big move. It was a personal decision that I have been agonizing over for some time, but now that it has been made, it feels right. It feels better than right. Today we are moving out of the SHOP in Thomas Basin. I put off sharing this with you until I gave my official notice to our landlord. We will be out by the first of October. We are not moving to another location. ketch-i-kreatures! llc is on personal leave until some far off future date. My memories are amazing. I have enjoyed the journey, and thank each and every one of you for sharing it with me. All of the pictures will be treasured, all of the stories shared, all of the love will grow. Until then...
