I’ll be bringing a limited number of fresh Flowers on First mason jar arrangements to Sheboygan tomorrow. They’re $15 each and filled with locally grown flowers from my garden. 🌸

Pickup will be available on the north side, or I may be able to coordinate limited delivery depending on your location.

The hardest part about growing dahlias for a flower stand? Actually putting them in the flower stand. 😂

Apparently I get a little attached. I grew them to sell… I just didn’t account for wanting to keep every pretty one. 🤷‍♀️🌸

But I did it! 😂

🌱 FROM THIS… TO THIS! 🌸

Sometimes you don’t realize how far you’ve come until you look back at where you started.

This spring, the flower garden started with cardboard, loads of compost, rocks holding everything down… and a whole lot of “I have an idea…” 😂

Then came the wood chips and finally — planting!

Since the fence wasn’t up yet, those first little plants lived under hoops and row cover so the deer didn’t turn my brand-new flower garden into their personal salad bar. 🦌😂

Eventually the fence went up, the row covers came off, and then came watering, weeding, staking, netting, fighting bugs… and wondering if some of those tiny plants were EVER going to grow.

Fast forward a few months…

LOOK AT IT. 😍🌸🌻

It’s definitely not perfect. Some things grew better than expected, some things taught me what NOT to do next year, and I already have about 47 ideas for next season. 😂

But seeing these pictures side by side is pretty darn cool.

What started as an overgrown old garden has become the little flower field behind Flowers on First — and those tiny plants are now filling your bouquets. 💐❤️

And somehow… this is only year one.

Dave should probably start getting nervous anytime he hears me say, “I have an idea…” 😂
