A MESSAGE FROM THE OWNER OF SECRETS & SWEETS
I think it’s time I properly introduce myself.
My name is Shawn Suzanne Young, and I am the owner of Secrets & Sweets.
If you’ve met me, you probably already know I’m not always politically correct. I try my very best to be sweet, kind, welcoming, and respectful to everyone who walks through our doors. But there are also some things I simply will not stand quietly by and accept.
I will not tolerate Facebook bullying, harassment, or people spreading information about my business without giving me the opportunity to address it.
I am at Secrets & Sweets daily from 10 AM to 6 PM. If you have an issue with me, my store, or something being sold here, by all means, come see me. My door is open, and I am more than happy to sit down and have an adult conversation with you.
I also have very little tolerance for dishonesty or theft.
Recently, a post was made alleging that stolen items were being offered for sale inside Secrets & Sweets. Based on the information available to me, I believe that allegation was false. However, I did not simply dismiss it.
I personally looked into the accusation.
Reports have now been filed with the Kilgore Police Department and Rusk County, so the matter can be handled through the proper channels.
And I want to make one thing perfectly clear:
IF, and that is a very big IF, anything in Secrets & Sweets is ever determined to be stolen property, we will do everything within our power to cooperate with law enforcement and see that it is returned to its rightful owner. Period.
We have multiple independent vendors under our roof, and I take the integrity of this store seriously. If someone has a legitimate concern, bring it to me. Give me the opportunity to investigate it and handle it appropriately.
What I will not do is conduct business through Facebook arguments, rumors, or a public pile-on.
Secrets & Sweets was built to be a place where people can shop, visit, laugh, find something they didn’t know they needed, and maybe leave with a cookie in their hand.
That is what I intend to protect.
So, now you officially know me.
