Today’s focus is the Luna.

I’m working through the instructions, checking the construction order and making sure the written steps match the way the bag is actually assembled.

I know people are waiting for completed patterns, which is exactly why I’m protecting this time in September. Getting it finished correctly matters more than pretending I can do everything at once.

The Luna is moving forward.

Fall is fast approaching which means bags made in fall colors.

I did a little fabric shopping this weekend and picked up these faux suede in some pretty fall colors

I've chosen the bags but as always I want to switch the designs but I'm trying to hold steady 🤣

Making the bag is only the beginning.

After the design works, I still have to turn everything I did instinctively into instructions another bagmaker can follow confidently. That means testing every step, checking measurements, adding photos and diagrams, and fixing anything that could cause confusion.

This is the work happening behind the scenes in September.

What part of reading a sewing pattern usually gives you the most trouble?

CARMEN/CAG AKA “HOW-TO” QUEEN! suggested that I turn more of my bag patterns into crochet patterns and at first I was resistant but I think i will give it a go.

Let me know what you think the next pattern I convert should be.

I’m pressing pause on public livestreams during September.

I love going live, but right now I need focused time to finish the Luna and Persephone pattern instructions and prepare my fall collection for October 2.

I’m not disappearing. You’ll still see behind-the-scenes updates, finished bags, pattern content and fall previews. Patreon members will also continue receiving their regular content and private lives.

This isn’t a break from Sew Mote It Be. It’s a month for finishing what I’ve started and making room for what’s coming next.
