Jess Eveleigh!... She's been an ally, an inspiration, a true friend of our market since the very beginning... and we like her product so much we buy it throughout the year online. Thrilled to see some new items added to her line and we can attest to the quality and satisfaction - soap that doesn't dry the skin, non toxic! Scents that invigorate, a face oil that leaves a wonderful afterglow without residue, lovely gift ideas here!

Occasionally an artisan comes along who reminds us of the enduring beauty of old world craftsmanship- creating useful, thoughtfully made wares that are as pleasing to the eye as they are to the hand. These are pieces made with skill, care and an appreciation for the timeless art of making things well. We invite you to visit the farm on market day where Derek will demonstrate live his blacksmithing skills -

Derek Collins is a professional blacksmith local to Haddam Connecticut. Originally from Ireland, he is passionate about maintaining the history of the craft and its use here in New England. He works with local businesses to provide repairs and design unique projects. He is active in local historical societies and period restoration projects. He also particularly loves metal sculpture and creating lasting pieces of art.

Local artist Lisa Helene returns with her whimsical paintings - we're always glad to see her face and the sunshine that is her tent display among the vendors.

" Given my love of animals and with the influence of childhood TV & cinema, the style I’ve cultivated can be best described as happy & whimsical; likely inspired from those cartoons. And quite simply, really, I just want to paint what makes me feel good & ultimately makes me smile.

The most common response I receive from people regarding my art is “it makes me smile” and I see it in their faces – a smirk, an unexpected surge of amusement. I’d like to think that something in my painting had simply made their heart smile and it made its way to the surface. Creating isn’t just a force of passion, but also a means to escape “life” and my innate direction is in the opposite direction of stress or anything negative, but rather one that inspires joy or feel-good feelings. In what I paint, there’s no profound message; nothing to figure out; no deep thought needed. It is what it is. Like me, what you see is what you get."

The Nomads Garden Tea Co. was born in the Spring of 2020 when our collective world seemed to stand still. During a time when emotional and physical turmoil was prevalent we sought out simple ways to calm our hearts and nourish our minds and bodies.

Our inception began with deciding on a name for our company. Inspired by our love for travel, The ‘Nomad’ instantly became the heartbeat of our brand. The ‘Garden’ paying homage to the terra firma of various regions of this beautiful planet that cultivate the unique ingredients we use in our blends. We started with small batches of 12 original blends, all familiar to us for quite some time. We packaged them up, gave each one a clever name, labeled them and made our first sales to a few supportive friends.

After the initial seven months of operation, we quickly outgrew the production space we had built in our home and found that our modus operandi required more space in order to establish firm roots and evolve.

In the fall of 2021 we relocated to a new house, which hosted a separate space to efficiently create from and would become the home base for The Nomads Garden Tea Co.

To date, we have blended over 120 various teas and tisanes. We take immense pride in providing our customers with the highest quality ingredients. We work directly with international suppliers and importers of the finest teas from the far reaches of artisan tea farms in Taiwan, Indonesia, Japan, India, and China. We believe in single-family estates who implement sustainable agricultural practices who share our passion. Our herbs and florals are grown beneath the Egyptian sun, picked by hand from Ayurvedic herb farms of India, and sourced from the mountainous regions of Japan.

The tea experience does not begin with drinking tea. It began centuries ago with traditions and methods to fine tune flavor and appearance of each leaf. The experience begins with appreciation for how tea is grown, harvested and produced. Tea isn’t just unique based on the plant used to create it. Minor adjustments to the process can take the same leaves and create exquisite contrasting flavor profiles.

The next next time you steep a cup of tea, take a moment to savor the time and effort that went into your experience.

We invite you to Sip. Explore. Grow.

Lina is new to market and we love her style! Old world metalsmithing that ties in the beauty of the natural world ❤️

Welcome to Idle Gauds Jewelry and Metals! I'm Lina Wilder, and I design and make all of the jewelry and other treasures you see at my display. I specialize in traditional metalsmithing techniques, particularly the kinds of techniques that involve direct manipulation and sculpting of the metal. My current favorites are chasing and repoussé, an ancient method of creating a 3D surface on sheet metal by using a hammer and highly polished metal punches; and hammer raising, an equally ancient method of creating hollow vessels by gradually coaxing sheet metal into dish, bowl, and cup shapes by hammering it over a smooth metal stake. The metal fabricating industry has largely replaced this kind of metalwork with automated processes like die stamping, but to me they provide a visceral, tactile connection among the maker, the object, and the user that can't be replaced by anything made in a machine.
