Filter and/or clean the air in your school or childcare program.

Improve the level of air filtration as much as possible without significantly reducing airflow.
Make sure the filters are sized, installed, and replaced according to manufacturer’s instructions.
Consider portable air cleaners that use high-efficiency particulate air (HEPA) filters to enhance air cleaning wherever possible, especially in higher-risk areas such as a nurse’s office or sick/isolation room.
Consider using ultraviolet germicidal irradiation (UVGI) in schools and non-home-based childcare programs as a supplemental treatment to inactivate the virus that causes COVID-19, especially if options for increasing ventilation and filtration are limited. Consult a qualified professional to help design and install any UVGI system.

After nearly a year into the pandemic, after many close calls, after many quarantines, and after losing two friends due to COVID complications, our own daughter ended up getting sick. It was time to put our UV-C products to the test with our very own family! With five of us at home needing to quarantine with her, there was not a lot of space to spread out. Here’s what we did…

We ended up running our Genesis One 75W Air Purifier with UV sterilization and Anion in every room that our daughter would occupy, mainly her room and the basement. We needed to keep the girls in separate bedrooms over the ten days of isolation, so her sister ended up with me at night and my husband ended up sleeping in the basement! Here is the catch, our daughter would spend the whole day in the basement on the same couch where he would be sleeping. My husband has Type 2 Diabetes, so he is considered high-risk for COVID. However, we had a lot of confidence that our products would get the job done. Each night before bed, we would treat the room with our Genesis One 150W UV-C Mobile Lamp for approximately 20 mins, and he was good to go. In addition to following CDC protocol such as washing hands, wearing masks when around her, and isolating as much as possible, we also treated remote controls, cellphones, masks, etc., with our UV-C Disinfectant Boxes.

Thankfully, no one else in our household ended up getting COVID! It was nice to have the peace of mind that we had products working for us helping to protect our family instead of constantly running around 24/7 wiping down surfaces using harsh-chemicals, or being paranoid about even entering the same room as her over the course of 10 days, which is a lot of potential exposure time! Instead, I could concentrate on being a mom taking care of my sick daughter, watch her get better, and watch the rest of our family stay healthy! We know not all have been so fortunate and our hearts go out to those who have suffered and lost loved ones from COVID. We were grateful to have had these resources and want to share these resources with as many people as possible.
