Bright blessings this beautiful Spring Equinox and Ostara, a period of rebirth, renewal, balance and a powerful turning point. Time has come to shake of the winters stagnation, plant new intentions and embrace the inner and outer worlds. The beautiful fly argaric ( Amanita Muscaria) is probably one of the most magickal looking fungi and well known for its poisonous reputation, and as the name suggests was traditionally used as an insecticide- floated in milk, attracting and intoxicating flies.

Thought to have been one of the earliest forms of entheogens (hallucinogenic substances) used for religious or shamanic purposes, which is thought to date back possibly over 10,000 years. To minimise its toxic side effects fly agaric would be processed in some way eg. dried, made into a drink, smoked or made into ointments. Care in its preparation and ritual were paramount. The Celtic Druids, for example, purified themselves by fasting and meditating for three days, drinking only water. Amongst the Koryak people of north-eastern Siberia the ceremonial use of fly agaric involved the shaman ingesting the mushroom, after which others would drink his urine to partake of its entheogenic effects. Though this sounds distinctly unpleasant to modern ears, if the shaman had been fasting, the urine would have been the urine would have been mainly water containing the hallucinogenic compounds. The body absorbs the fly agaric’s hallucinogens first, and then expels the toxins from the stomach. The hallucinogenic chemicals then exert their influence on the body and are expelled unaltered in the urine.

Reindeer in northern Europe are also attracted to the fly agaric’s euphoric effects and Siberian people would notice the drunken behaviour of such animals and slaughter them to get the same effects from eating the meat.

The summer solstice yesterday kicked off Cancer season, but todays Strawberry Moon is rising across the zodiac in focused and disciplined Capricorn. As one of the initiative-taking cardinal signs, this is a powerful astrological force to work with when it comes to material manifestations — especially related to your financial goals, so here are a couple of rituals perfect for just this....

Do a mid year clearing ritual
~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•
Start by taking time to connect with your intentions for the latter half of the year and visualize what it will look and feel like to embody that reality. Write down a list of what you’d like to have accomplished six months from now. Then make a list of all the things currently standing in the way of where you are now and where you’d like to end up. That could be a job you dislike, a mentally draining situation at home, or even a tendency to doubt yourself.
Once you’ve made the list, light the black candle, which symbolizes protection and the banishment of any obstacles holding you back from success. Then light the white candle, which symbolizes the light that’ll clear the path ahead of you. These colors are also associated with the signs of Capricorn and Cancer, respectively, so it’s a good way to honor the zodiacal placements of the moon and sun during this mystical lunar moment.

Build an abundance altar

As Capricorn is an earth sign it’s often associated with matters of money and material success. Channel this rich witch energy by putting together a simple abundance altar in your home. Clear a small space on a shelf, side table, or even atop a box, and place a few items that symbolize wealth, success, and abundance to you. This could be a jar full of coins and cash, a valuable heirloom, or a vision board of all the luxurious items or vacation spots on your wish list. Adding some abundance-attracting crystals like pyrite or green aventurine is even better.On the night of the full moon, light a green candle on your altar and/or some frankincense or sandalwood-scented incense (both of which are associated with prosperity). Write down some mantras relating to money and abundance — such as “I am a magnet for wealth,” or “I welcome abundance in all forms” — and place it front and center on your altar. Since this is the Strawberry Moon, set out some fresh strawberries as an offering to whatever mystical forces you choose to connect with, or simply as a symbol of the sweet taste of success you’re inviting into your life.

Cleavers, or sticky w***y amongst other names, is pretty abundant just now. Probably most commonly seen as an annoying w**d this plant has many useful and healing properties.

🌱Juice can be extracted by placing the herb into a blender with water and then blending into a pulp (also known as a succus). The juice can then be filtered out through a strainer or cloth.

🌱The young shoots of the plant can also be cooked or eaten raw and are often used in soups.

Medicinal uses

🌱Cleavers is also infused into tea and ingested to treat internal ailments.

🌱Cleavers can be prepared into a pulp and then applied topically as a poultice to treat ulcers, lumps and wounds. Watered down it can be used as a wash to treat inflammation of the skin. It’s calming attributes also make it great for bringing down fevers and treating contagion like chicken pox and measles.

🌱Cleavers is a diuretic, it cleanses the toxins out of the body via the urinary tract. It is used to treat kidney stones, cleanse the lymphatic system and help with various urinary tract ailments such as cystitis.

🌱The astringent attributes make cleavers great for giving the liver function a boost, improve digestion and help with the absorption of nutrients.

🌱Cleavers can cause irritation in some people but has been often shown to help with the treatment of skin complaints such as psoriasis and eczema.

🌱Studies have also shown that Cleavers has the ability to bring down highblood pressure and is often used to help with sleeplessness and insomnia.

🌱Cleavers can also have a laxative effect when ingested.

Magickal Uses Of Cleavers

✨️Because of the plants tendency to bind together due to tiny little hooks located on the plants stem and leaves, cleavers is commonly used in binding spells and matters of commitment.

✨️Use cleavers in spells or mojo bags that deal with commitment issues, rocky relationships and love.
