North Tahoe Arts (NTA) continues to spotlight the talented pool of local artists and occasionally visiting artists, for monthly exhibits. NTA hosts a variety of programs, exhibits, and activities thanks to a healthy corps of volunteers COMMUNITY:
The end of year Fund Raiser brought in $5600 for North Tahoe Arts. Thank you to our wonderful community of members and friends. Art is a Part of all we do - from our free kids art Saturday workshops to ARTour to our monthly exhibits and beautiful Artisan Shop. Click around our website and see what we have going. Tahoe ARTour, our open studio tour, will be held July 8,9,10 and July 15,16,17. Each artist volunteers his/her time to handle a portion of the event responsibilities. Studios are spiffed up, art is created and each artist helps with publicity, the opening reception, the exhibit or brochures, publicity, sponsorship and more. The event attracts guests from Truckee and North Lake Tahoe communities as well as from Reno, Sacramento, the San Francisco Bay area and points between. Visitors from around the USA and farther afield are caught up in the fun and end up at artist’s studios while visiting the area to golf, boat or hike. We’ve come to especially appreciate spouses of golfers who are often art lovers! The Kids’ Art Camp will be held the weeks of July 11th, 18th, and 25th. Location Rideout Community Center. We are so fortunate to have such wonderful and dedicated teachers for this three week camp. Each year they spend many hours developing interesting and creative projects for children to complete during the camp, often using recycled or green materials. The program is open for children between the ages of 5 and 12. Although designed as an art camp for local kids, it attracts families that are visiting the area. Visiting parents call us months ahead of time to confirm the location and dates so they can reserve camp sites or cabin rentals near by.
