JMB Guitars

JMB Guitars is a work studio that specializes in custom shop luthiery and repair services located in Kings Park, New York via appointment only.

JMB Guitars is also a certified Martin Warranty Repair Center. Setups and repairs are an important extension
to any luthier's skill sets. The extent a luthier can go in their repair work reflects who they are in their craft. Careful attention is paid to detail, time is well spent and high-quality tools are used to ensure the result is something you'd expect from a passionate luthier who knows what they are doing and can execute it successfully. I also have experience working in retail stores.

Hurricane weekend or not, I enjoy coming back to the shop later at night, and working with the sound of rain and the door open. Hope everyone had a safe weekend!

I received a call last week and was asked if my shop can be used to facilitate an interview this afternoon. I got to meet a cool bro named Drew Stone and his helper Francis! 😎🎸🤘 Mike Tramp

My pal Steve Pisani showed up with a guy named Mark Mendoza from Twisted Sister. I think I want Mark working for me because he knows my shop better than I do. 😂 Great times here at JMB Guitars.

Those old drop-in bridges are garbage! 😤 A mod transformed this build. The Warmoth neck is still holding up beautifully after 30 years. 🎸😃

I’m late to the party with these pics, but here are some updated pictures of the shop here at 5R Main St in Kings Park, New York.

A little story about these two builds, they are handmade with the Blackmore-flavor in mind by Ritchie’s old tech Cooky and myself. They feel great! Cooky hand-scalloped these like he did for the legend decades ago. Our friendship created the concept from a red ‘79 Strat Ritchie gifted to Cooky while on tour in Europe during the 1980s. Due to a lack of competent local finishers and legal fine print by Fender going around, these are staying as concepts and nothing more.

It’s wild to hear is back at it once again with Deep Purple! 🎸🤘😎 Clif Cooky Crawford

I wanted to take people I cherish for a good time tonight! Mr. Colabella fell in love with the tour bus and the gold plated custom drum set. My good friends who work with Styx wanted Italian subs hooked us up. Tommy Shaw and JY’s guitar gurus are blood for life. Styx

Wayne Charvel created a Super Strat that helped iconic guitar players like Edward Van Halen shape guitar playing to what it is today. Rest in peace, king! 🎸🙏🏻

Regardless of what people say, stepped it up the last few years! More clients are bringing them in for me to optimize playability and performance without paying for the far more expensive alternative. 🎸👍
