Time for our yearly PSA on this matter-
Youth Turkey Season starts next Friday, April 10 and ends on Sunday, April 12.
If you have a youth (under 16 the day the purchase the license) that plans to hunt turkeys this spring, I HIGHLY recommend buying them a Youth Season turkey tag even if they aren't going to hunt April 10-12. Reason being, they can use that unfilled tag for any of the other seasons thru May 17 and not have to buy a seperate tag specific to a particular season.
Here's the catch- you MUST buy their Youth Tag before the Youth Season ends on April 12.
So go get their tag & get them out there!

Time for my yearly PSA on this matter-
Youth Deer Season starts this Saturday. If you have a youth 15 or younger and they are intending on deer hunting this year (whether during the Youth Season or not), you need to MAKE SURE you buy their youth season tag before the end of youth season, which is Oct 6th. If they don't fill it during youth season, they can use that tag for any other deer season throughout the year (I refer to it as a 'Golden Ticket'), but you have to buy the tag before youth season closes.
Get 'em out there, have fun and be safe!

My PSA for today-
If you have a kid (under 16) who's going to turkey hunt this spring, the Youth Season starts this Friday and ends on Sunday. If you buy them a Youth Tag, it's good for the rest of all the seasons if they don't fill it, but you NEED to buy it before the Youth Season ends on Sunday; you can't buy it after that.
It's a really great deal and as close to a Golden Ticket as you can get, so even if you can't make it out this weekend with them, GET THEIR TAG BOUGHT NOW!

With Pheasant Season 2022 officially underway, I thought this was fitting.
I bought this pheasant cookbook a few years ago at the National PF Convention, but never really looked thru it.
Now that I’m cooking for myself, and plan on whacking plenty of roosters this year, I went thru it tonight and there are a ton of recipes that look awesome and easy enough to make that I could handle it.
I don’t want to violate any copyright laws, so I just put the pics of the finished product on here, but I looked and the cookbook is available on Amazon.

Note for the Plymouth County Pheasants Forever gun winners.

If you were lucky enough to win a gun at this year's banquet, they can be picked up at Small Town Sportsman in Kingsley this week Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday (April 6-8) from 9am-7pm and Friday, April 9th from 9am-5pm.
If you aren't able to make it in to pick up your winnings on those days, just make sure to call Dave at 712-378-3276 to arrange a day & time before making a trip to Kingsley since they don't have 'regular' hours most days.
