Before and after of a drawer that became a catchall.

Sometimes it’s nice to leave some open flex space for larger items.

It doesn’t always have to fit like a jigsaw puzzle.

We used old food storage containers to contain the different items base on how they are used.

Then we used glass jars to put the pens and markers in vertically so they wouldn’t get covered up again. It also saved space.

Create processing zones in your home for items in motion. They could be new items that don’t have a home. They could be things that are part of an active project such as something to install. It might just be something new to look over and then discard. The catch it always to make sure they are not used as long term storage or doom piles. Refresh those areas often.

Here is an example of how going vertical inside of a deep drawer can help utilize AND create more space.

Instead of laying the pens and markers inside old check boxes we placed them into glass jars.

(Context: all the switches are flipped up the same way and the screw heads are aligned almost perfectly)

Adding a date to this moth catcher so we can see what we catch within a certain time frame.

Have any of you experienced Indian meal moths in your home?

Were they easy or tough to get rid of?

These keep showing up in my clients clothing closet which is above her garage but also not too far above the kitchen either. According to the internet they aren’t interested in clothing but pantry food.
