ASTOUNDING Philanthropic move by the GREAT Sandy Koufax... As of January 2026, reports indicate that legendary pitcher Sandy is auctioning his personal collection of memorabilia, including his Hall of Fame plaque, to raise funds for the homeless in Los Angeles.

Rickey Henderson HOF OAK Mariners superstar career highlights... Henderson's record 1,406 stolen bases are 468 more than second-place Lou Brock's 938 -- almost exactly 1.5 times Brock's career total. The gap in Sbs / stolen bases between Henderson and Brock is the same as the gap between Brock and 47th-place Jimmy Rollins ( with 470 ).
If you penalized rickey one stolen base for each of his 335 times caught stealing ( and on top of that took away his 130-steals 1982 season just for kicks ), he would still be the All-Time leader by 3 steals.
A player could debut on Opening Day 2025, steal 50 bases every single season for the next 28 years … and still be 6 steals behind Rickey. He could have joined the 3,000 Hit club as a leadoff hitter alone. He is the ONLY hitter who can say that. Pete Rose ( 2,924 ) and Ichiro ( 2,529 ) are the next-closest leadoff hitters.
Rickey is the all-time leader in UN-intentional walks. Only 61 of his walks were intentional, leaving him with 2,129 UN-intentional walks. Barry Bonds was intentionally walked 688 times, leaving him with 1,870 UN-intentional walks.
Henderson got at least one Hit in 66% of the games that he played with at least 1 plate appearance. He reached base safely in 85% of those games. He stole at least 1 base in 34% of his career games. And he scored at least 1 run in 54% of his career games.
Over the course of his spectacular career, he accumulated 106.3 fWAR ( 111.1 bWAR ), which ranks him No. 17 all time, right behind HOF Mike Schmidt, and directly in front of HOF Frank Robinson.
Over the course of a 25-year career, Henderson only put up one negative fWAR season, and it was not at age 44 right before he retired. It was in his 1st season in the Major Leagues as a 20-year-old.
